Delta is more like Frankenstein’s monster slowly regaining his memories and humanity throughout the course of the campaign. In Subject Delta you don’t have a blank slate everyman. Oppositely, Booker is more involved, but his past is much more interesting than the broken man we see in Infinite. Jack is merely a tool used by everyone around him, which makes for a fun twist but a nonexistent character. Delta is a bit deeper of a character in BioShock 2 than BioShock‘s Jack and BioShock: Infinite‘s Booker. I’m not referring to physical strength here, though as a Big Daddy, Subject Delta certainly is powerful. It Features BioShock’s Strongest Protagonist Before you disagree, hear me out and read the four reasons BioShock 2 is the best BioShock game.

But now, with the BioShock series seemingly put to bed, the 2010 sequel has aged the best of the lot. To many, the game seemed like the easy cash-in sequel that was made without the involvement of the series director Ken Levine. A diversion, to be sure, but at least it’s free.BioShock 2 got some acclaim when it first came out, but it was generally regarded as the lesser entry.

The new Kill ‘Em Kindly gametype, free for all, limits players’ arsenals to mere golf clubs (“Fore!”) in bouts of face-smashing melee action. In the meantime, the other new Bioshock 2 DLC released last week may be worth checking out. Players who supported 2K by purchasing the Sinclair pack may be wondering what, exactly, their five dollars got them.ĢK Games and Digital Extremes, developers of Bioshock 2‘s multiplayer mode, have been contacted in the hope that they might shed some light on what, exactly, is being done to remedy the current situation. The Rapture Metro pack raises a whole slew of additional issues in this light, as the same “new” level cap is included in the newer DLC. In fact, what most players were paying for when they bought the Sinclair Solutions pack was the raised level cap. Besides, that pack offered little for the five dollar price of admission.

Players were simply downloading a key to unlock content they had- in the eyes of some, at least- already purchased. The Sinclair Solutions pack, released in March, also raised quite a hubbub when it was revealed that the content being purchased was, in fact, already on the disc. Rapture Metro isn’t the first Bioshock 2 DLC pack to cause a stir. Unfortunately, in addition to resetting a players rank and unlocked weapons and plasmids, at this time Rebirth also has the apparently undesired side effect of wiping all the player’s records from the leaderboards. Once players hit the (sort of) new level cap of 50, they’re given the option to go back to level 1 a la Modern Warfare‘s prestige mode, unlocking a new mask for their character and an achievement, to boot. The leaderboard issue she’s referring to involves Rebirth mode, one of the other new features of the Rapture Metro pack. Unfortunately, two of the three new achievements/trophies require that the new maps be played in public matches.

In the meantime, she’s suggested players stick to private matches to experience the new maps. For now, please know that the team is aware and they are looking in to what they can do to make you happy – and all your requests have been forwarded to them.” I hope to have more information for you early next week, but that depends on the devs and when they can provide us some good info. “I don’t have much to tell you currently, but whenever I do, I’ll update here. Heated discussions about the issue on the 2K forums prompted an explanation from Community Manager Elizabeth Tobey, as well as this follow-up response: What this has meant for players, so far, is that the odds of playing on the new maps are akin to hitting the jackpot on a Las Vegas slot machine: totally random, and highly unlikely. Every player is lumped together, regardless of whether they own the new maps, and if even one is sans DLC, then the new maps will simply be skipped over. Instead, the maps have simply been integrated into the existing playlists. Unlike other games for which new maps are released, there is no dedicated playlist for early adopters of the Rapture Metro pack. The issue has to do with players who haven’t purchased the DLC, which costs 800 Microsoft Points (or ten dollars). Players who eagerly purchased Bioshock 2‘s new Rapture Metro DLC pack last week were likely perplexed when, after hours of matchmaking, they still hadn’t played a single match on one of the six new multiplayers maps.
